About Paul Schroder
Having been educated at Sydney Grammar School, I obtained Degrees in Arts and Law at the University of Sydney, graduating in 1977. I practiced as a solicitor in Sydney’s Western Suburbs and the Blue Mountains from 1978. I was called to the Bar and entered upon the Roll of the High Court of Australia as a Barrister in 1997.
I obtained as a solicitor, an accreditation as a Family Law Specialist and accredited Child Representative. I remain on the panel of Barristers for representing the Independent Childrens Lawyer. I have presented papers on “Contravention and Contempt” and “Disclosure and Add Backs” under the auspices of the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court at Parramatta. My experience as a Barrister primarily relates to all aspects of Family Law including:
- Marital, Defacto and Same Sex property and parenting cases
- Child Support cases
- International Child Abduction Cases
- Appearing in all Family Courts and Federal Circuit Courts
- Local Courts exercising Family Law jurisdiction
- Appearing in Mediations and Arbitrations
- Appearing as Counsel for the Independent Childrens Lawyer
I have no difficulty in conferring at Solicitors offices in Sydney’s West and the Blue Mountains. I have an established practice in Western NSW and regularly appear in the circuit sittings at Orange and Dubbo. I also appear and accept briefs in interstate Courts all throughout the Commonwealth. I accept briefs funded by grants from the Legal Aid Commission of NSW. In stricly limited cases and in accordance with the Bar Association Rules I will accept direct briefs, reserving the right to decide if I will accept a Direct Brief.
